As many of you know, we have already had to postpone two of our biggest races for 2020. According to the AR Cooperative calendar, upwards of 30 other AR-related events have also been canceled. These numbers don't account for the hundreds of road races, trail runs, OCR events, triathlons, etc... that have also canceled or postponed.

These cancelations have a trickle-down impact, not only affecting race promotion companies, but also swag vendors, awards and medals companies, sponsors, and food and lodging establishments. The list goes on.

And the adventure racing community is a special one; when we can’t race, we aren’t just missing a day (or ten) to challenge ourselves physically. We are also losing an opportunity to come together with friends and families, tell old stories, and make some new ones.

In this crazy time that leaves us feeling isolated from our teammates and AR family - but grateful to have the social, mental, problem-solving, and endurance skills we have honed during long nights in the woods, death marches through the desert, chest-high trudges through swamps, and bone-chilling journeys through storms that light up the sky - we want to offer our adventure racing friends across the world an opportunity to go out “with each other” and make some new memories.

And so, we bring you the Lockdown.
