Running 35:00 [3] 30.0 km (1:10 / km)

Placing controls for the Monday night Session, pretty fast run as we got there very late. Weather wasn't great, it was basically non stop rain and freezing cold, however I stayed warm enough for this part of the session to be able to run it.

Running 15:00 [1]

Warm up with my group, started with a quick run, then did couple exercises before moving on to manhunt. Actually tired me out surprisingly, as they get quite invested and excited and can run pretty fast.

Orienteering race 1:01:28 [4] 8.0 km (7:41 / km)

Orienteering Race at Wesley Clover Parks. Not sure the exact distance, except I'm pretty sure it was above 8km. This was a pretty average race, as I didn't feel as if any of the course was challenging enough to do impressively at. However, despite not being amazing, none of it went badly. My worst mistake was at control 3, where I struggled to stay focused due to the amount of people around me, and I ended up overshooting the control, and it took me about a minute to recover. At the beginning of the run my legs felt strangely heavy, however I pushed through and within a few controls I felt normal again. This feeling wasn't helped by the very long leg right away, with control 1 being over a kilometer away. The conditions were pretty nice, with the temperature not getting too hot until after my race was completed.

Running warm up/down 15 [1]

Warm up for Orienteering race, consisting of dynamic and static stretching such as A's, B's, C's, strides, lunges etc. I went through the whole list of common stretches today. My legs were feeling quite good this entire time, which did kind of surprise me when I then felt heavy during the actual race. I did however notice more stiffness in my hip, which I have felt on and off for a little while now. I made sure to focus more closely on this, and will continue to do so in the future

Running 42:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:36 / km)

Simple road run, nothing special. Felt pretty good, I think Track is definitely paying off, as even though it is a different type of training, I feel far fitter than earlier this year. One thing I've noticed a lot recently is the change in my breathing. I believe the sprint training is really helping me control my breathing a lot more, slowing it down and not feeling like I'm ever running out of air.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [1]

Not a very long warm up, however I made sure to stretch before starting my run. Walked about 500m while doing stretches and exercises

Really focused on my one hip, as I can tell the tendon is getting sore, and I've been having some issues with it recently.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [3]

Warm up at Track Practice! Very easy today, as its right after a meet. Warm up involved a bunch of static stretching, while also involving a short run, and some active stretches' like lunges.

Thursday May 12 #

Note

Stretched throughout the day, while also using a massage gun and roller. Didn't do it at any particular time or pattern, instead just targeting the points that hurt whenever I noticed them.

Probably came out to around 45 minutes total by the end of the day

Didn't do any running, as my legs were not up for it.
