Am Faochagach with T
Bit of a bog session but great views from on high. Guaranteed wet feet from the get go. Not the most stunning of hills but felt to be out in proper Scotland...great views, plenty bog, somewhat chilly, wet feet, no-one else about pretty much and a general feeling of wildness...not to mention the deer, a lizard, dead and weathered ancient rootstocks emerging from the peat, an unidentified bird of prey high up, intermittent snow patches, rain and shine, old stone walls, tumbledown buildings,...just needed a midge or three.

Lovely swim at Alltanabradban with T and LC. Back and forth across the bay. Excellent.
Cuckoos, black throated divers and diving arctic terns in abundance.

From Inchnadamph up Conival aiming for Ben More Assynt. Still unfinished.
Climbed well on Conival but knew what was coming after chatting to a descending couple. Fog, wind and rain on summit of Conival and then nil visibility and unstable snow on ridge to BMA and very iffy cornice. Not nice at all. Home time.

Back down again. One of those hills that you just can't descend quickly on. Once the stone had finished, it was steep, muddy, tussocky bogland.
Good chat with aforementioned couple, from Glasgow, at the bottom of the steep bit. Ex Jura, Lairig Ghru race runners.

From lighthouse at Cluas Deas. Bit of a soggy stop / start run looping to Old Man of Stoer and back. With T. Might be described as atmospheric, or just dreich.
Swim 10:00
Excellent swim in the small bay. Lovely evening sunshine. Proper swim too for at least ten minutes. The Minch is cold mind!
Legs not too bad but not feeling like going anywhere fast today. Survived a good few coastal potters along a few beaches and over a headland or two. Managed a couple of coffee stops too....bacon roll even.
Geese, a couple of whimbrels, and a dead dolphin - todays sightings.
