ahr:138 max:169 shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (Grey/Red)

James Cruickshank instructed me to increase the loading on my tib post by doing some more challenging running, so I got the x-talons out and ran on some grass.

10 AM

Running 1:14:16 [2] 15.92 km (4:40 / km) +215m 4:22 / km
shoes: Asics Cumulus 19 (Black)

I've been itching to get to the Pentlands since my return, but various injuries have prevented me.

Found a reasonably well-surfaced 10 mile loop from Harlaw around the reservoirs, Red Moss and the central road and got Jonny along. Bloody loved it.
4 PM

Running (Road) 27:59 [2] 6.03 km (4:38 / km) +36m 4:30 / km
ahr:130 max:145 shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (Red)

Explored some new, very expensive, houses and accidentally found a back way into the hospital. Felt very average.

7 PM

Running 52:00 [2] 10.91 km (4:46 / km) +107m 4:33 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Black)

Ran almost all of the trails in Craigmillar. Had a tummy ache and feeling quite sick most of the afternoon, almost bailed on this.

R hamstring reacted very well to sticking Claire's elbow in it last night. Not quite good as new but much improved today. A couple more elbow treatments to release the cramping trigger area should do the trick I reckon.

Thursday Sep 13 #

7 AM

Running 31:11 [2] 6.76 km (4:37 / km) +56m 4:26 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (L Black)

Easy jog around Craigmillar, testing out the quad for this evening. Should be OK.
5 PM

Running (Road) 18:10 [2] 3.95 km (4:36 / km) +25m 4:28 / km
ahr:136 max:157 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite 9

Running (Road) (Threshold) 39:14 [4] 11.35 km (3:27 / km) +1m 3:27 / km
ahr:160 max:175 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite 9

Itenburgh Meadows 5 lap progression with Dougie, JT and Jonny.

Was quite up for this as a relaxed re-introduction to a session. Didn't look at my watch, just followed Dougie's pace for the whole thing. Feeling good and really enjoyed it. Just got a bit tough in the last 1.5 laps feeling my late lunch a bit.

Dougie is clearly experienced at this sort of pacing - got a pretty textbook graph out of it, despite some standard wind.

Everything felt all fine during, hamstring tightened up a decent amount after. Just need to keep on top of that and be a bit more careful how I re-introduce strength/core as my body clearly reacts pretty strongly!

Running (Road) 20:30 [2] 4.47 km (4:35 / km) +2m 4:35 / km
ahr:135 max:145 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite 9

Wednesday Sep 12 #

Note
(rest day)

Moved this forward from Friday to help with niggles a bit.
6 PM

Running (Road) 30:49 [2] 6.51 km (4:44 / km) +95m 4:25 / km
ahr:130 max:167 shoes: Nike Pegasus 32 (Red)

Very chilled little AS loop. R inner quad still hurting. Bumped into Mr Waldie and Mr Giekrrykiezkzriewicz. Ran with the latter for a bit.
