1. | Very easy control, but misoriented for the first minute. Same thing happened at Hibernia.
2. | Stone wall off trail keeping dry ditch to easy side as handrail.
3. | Got confused with which large boulder patch I was in. In retrospect, I should have erred North and then ran South once I hit the boulder field.
4. | Never saw the rocks on the road so was a little confused, but saw the stone wall and hit it cleanly.
5. | Took the conservative route here. Road to trail to trail bend up the hill.
6. | Was fortunate here. Wanted to run from NW side of stone wall "square" down to marsh as attack point with the creek as a backstop. Got a little tangled up in green early and probably lost focus. Was banking on backstop when I hit the control spot on.
7. | Ran west out of rocks than N, erring to east side of control. Spotted the depression 100m E and was able to easily contour over to the cliff.
8. | Rough compass to boulder field to boulder.
9. | Rough compass again. There was a group of people going towards this one.
10. | I was surprised to have the best split here. Basically a trail run, and given that I wasn't feeling well I thought I'd be giving up time on "lost kilometers".
11. | Headed N, took a while to find a way through the green patch, but hit it straight on. Poor route choice based on splits.
12. | Took my time here keeping track of the fields.
13. | Took the trail through the green in the SE field corner.
F. | Long uphill finish. Passed #1 on the way. |
