Race Evaluation

CSW1 + club event: Red Med

roar

1. P P R 3 +00:20Was slightly confused by the orientation at first. Ran down the open and could match nothing. Slowed to check the scale and realised I'd have to go in as I was at the tree already. Forest was slow going. I missed the stream jump but I could see the control then
2. P D R 2 +00:05Wanted to go around below the green. was ok at first but the change was vague and I ended up a bit high, getting a bit pulled by the bent line.
3. P D P R 2 Had good control flow out of 2. Head up and could see the open hashing early, so around under that and in. Control was slightly further left than I had anticipated.
4. P D P R 3 +00:30Missed that I could cross the river on the straight route so went around the windy path way more than necessary. Cut up a bit late then and didn't really understand the re-entrant shape. Could see the bridge below so I knew I was right and just followed it up.
5. P D P R 4 Small climb out of 4 then quick down the path. Used the path far side of the lake to get up the steep bit then compassed across. Wanted to be below it so I had a chance of seeing it. Saw what seemed to be the dark green and then control was up and to my right as desired.
6. D R 3 +00:10Mis-read the amount of climb necessary and mostly just contoured. Hit the stream valley and could see the path below so it was a small matter to climb up to it.
7. P D R 2 Climbed agressively. Was fairly tough going up to the open, then opened the legs a little along the path until the clearing end. Dropped in to the valley, slid and fell about a contours worth. Forest was pine needles on sand pretty much so not grippy. Could see Jake very low but tried to use the shape to lead me in and got it well.
8. P 2 +00:15Knew I had to climb but overdid it slightly. there were a few people around and getting past them was tricky in the green so I ended up going around them upwards. Hit the gully and turned down it to find it easily.
9. P D P R 2 Straight down, sliding right slightly. Path came quite quickly and the control was easy once on the nose.
10. P D P R 2 Climbed back up to the path and ran fairly quickly around. Saw the rootstock before it and dropped in nicely.
11. P D P R 3 Back to the path and up the re-entrant keeping to the right of the green. There was almost a path through it. Saw the boulder to my right and was easy from there.
12. P D P R 1 +00:10Kept left to the path. Once down the valley the stream access from the path seemed really bad further up so I went into it. IT immediately curved back to the path though I had to climb through branches and the control was punch-able without actually leaving the path.
13. P D P R 2 It was hard to see what the stream was doing from the path mostly so I was worried about over-running it. Used the contours to see there was a small climb and drop just before it.
14. P D P R 1 +00:10Easier, just past the boardwalk and go it. I got my angles wrong though and had to loop around some fallen tree.
15. P D P R 3 Hardest thing about this leg was the huge bend in the line. I spotted it early and went around. Crossed the bridge below the lake instead of the lower one was a mistake but not too serious this time. Once in the white had good compass though was slightly higher than expected in the circle.
16. P D P R 2 Compass to the path and then in. Saw 2 on the way, easy as.
17. P D P R 3 Opted for straight. Crossing the river was slightly slow but ok. Came past the depression and contoured but was higher than the control somehow (probably wrongly placed). Was a bit lacking in confidence through the green and could have been a bit more aggressive here.
18. P D P R 1 Easy path run. Overtook some people
