Race Evaluation

UNO Camping Weekend: THE MEGA

tdgood

1. I PUNCHED EVERY CONTROL which did slow me down some at each control. It was interesting to see how much time I lost to those that "touched" each control, to those that touched the punch, to those that just got near the control (you know who you are). Started off really slow and pulled up short to the first control. Still use to the 1:5000 map from the previous day. Caught Neville French at first control
2. Neville somewhere behind me for the next few controls. Nice to be by myself for next bunch.

113. Stopped with Will and crowd just after 112 to look for his glasses. Eventually enough people showed up that his glasses were found. I lost more than most people but less than Will and the first bunch. It was actually a welcome rest. Will encouraged everyone to go on. Followed crowd including Samantha, Will, Ross, to the next few controls

120. Samantha just ahead of me on the Beaver Damn. She went of the damn sooner and got wet. I decided to stay high and also got wet. Oh well. She ran away after the getting off the damn. I have faded and for the next 60 control just walked mostly.

159. Went right to the control. Then left the pillar. Was part way to the next control when I realized the damn map wasn't misprinted there were three controls at the same feature. I hadn't read the meet notes but JJ had said there were no control within 30m on similar features as per USOF rules.

162. Vladimir passed me. Stayed with him for a control or two because he was wandering all over the place.
