L Knee, Other

2022-01-02 – 2022-03-15

Grade: 3

Extremely swollen knee. Not much discomfort except when going downstairs (difficult to bend). I don't dare to run on it until swelling goes down. Became grade 3 on the third week. By 5th week, back to grade 2. Waiting for MRI for diagnosis.
2-14: MRI (from 2-8) report: "complex" Meniscus tear -it's actually a smallish tear, Arthritic deposits in several places (patella, around meniscus). Course of action: get a cortisone shot, slowly resume physical activities.
2-28 Cortisone shot. Knee still aches when bent at a certain angle. Dangling and sideways motions are still painful.
3-15: Attempts to jog on trails successful. Knee hurts during first 2 miles, then hurting stops. Possibly some lingering tendonitis

Need to cautiously resume running training, which should include WU on statonary bike (~ 10 minutes), some WD walking, and then icing/elevating afterwards. I'll see how far that gets me.
