L Knee, Other

2010-04-06 – 2010-05-06

Grade: 0

popliteus tendinitis. initially felt a discomfort in the belly behind the left knee. progressed into mild ache just below the head of the fibula. could see mild tendon swelling there at full extension. placing leg in figure 4 (left ankle on right knee) produces mild pain. mild ache throughout the day in lower hamstrings and in the belly behind the knee. a reduction in running volume, icing, and compression is showing progress.

rest is probably the best medicine for this injury. i was able to keep it at bay up until Ironman by reducing volume and icing.
