Easy run with Becky at East Rock. It was slow, but I couldn't run any faster - very stiff knees, which started hurting towards the end. Need to rest some more after the mountaineering.

Walked up (on snow) to northern ridge of Eldorado, did some pitches up on the rocky part, then climbed up to the very summit again on snow, then back down. Whole thing took way longer than necessary because we were a group of 5 people on one rope.

Climbing up to camp at Eldorado, about 5,000 feet of vertical with backpacks on steep climber's path through forest, then big boulder field, then snow.

Easy run with Boris in East Rock - ate lots of carrots, hummus, and cherries right beforehand since I didn't think we were going to get a run in. This and the heat made me feel like crap, but I'm still glad Boris got me out there...

I'm getting more flexible!!! :)

Here are the things I'm working on:
1) Back flexibility: check out this latest bridge:

2) Hamstring flexibility: when lying down with one leg straight on the floor and the other raised and straight, the end of the raised foot was about 23 inches off the floor.
3) Front splits: Could do both of them today without struggling to get into position, and even started practicing with bending the back knee at 90 degrees.
4) Side split: It's looking better - could get my legs to the sides with 32+ inches from kneecap to kneecap.

I put on two pairs of socks and my new Koflach Degre boots to go for a walk on the treadmill. (Testing to see if the boots fit well or whether they'll give me blisters.) Boris asked me to take a video, so here it is. Not very exciting, but you can see how big the boots are.

Easy run at West Rock, with a few stops. Legs seemed sort of stiff and tired, and it was hot, but it was also beautiful and this kept me awake.
