Cross-Training (Spinning) 45:00 [1]

Today was especially uninspiring in terms of training. Rainy, dark, and grey outside and either rugby or football (didn't bother figuring out which) showing on the gym tv.

Strength Training 20:00 [1]

Stretching 6:00 [1]

Did a few handstands after stretching. I miss the good old days when I was flexible and actually able to hold a handstand for more than two seconds.

30 minutes spinning, 15 on the elliptical (resistance 5, ramp 7-11). I am *so* tired of the gym!

Ankle strengthening exercises. I should start doing this more often.

Decided to do some spinning intervals to help the time pass.
10 minutes easy
15x{1 minute on, 1 off}
5 minutes easy
I wasn't breathing hard, but at least I was moving my legs as fast as possible. They felt very tired afterward!

Did my stretching routine twice. Felt good.

Note

The blisters are far from healed. I still can't wear trainers or sleep on my back. Grr. Hopefully they will be ok by next Wednesday, when I go to Sweden.

Usual spinning session. IT bands felt tight at first, but seemed to loosen up a bit after half an hour.

5 minutes spinning, 10 on the elliptical. I meant to do 45 minutes of this, but it is impossible to use these machines while wearing flip-flops.

Note

Blisters suck. Not only does it hurt during the race, but then I have to put up with walking around without shoes, getting bad sleep, not being able to run, and not being able to do my usual type of cross-training. The worst part is I think I'll have to miss my favorite TVOC summer series event, which is this Wednesday at Shotover.

But life isn't so bad, because the results of the lottery for the 2007 La Luz trail run were posted online and my name is on the list! 9 miles and over 4,700 feet of climb. I'm really excited!
