Cross-Training (elliptical) 10:00 [2]

Strength Training 45:00 [1]

Physical therapy session. Stuff is getting better:
- my VM muscle is 2-3 times stronger than when I first started strengthening it over a year ago
- I can actually do 25 lbs (both legs) on the hamstring machine, which doesn't sound like much but it's a record for me. Also, I haven't been feeling pain in my hamstrings afterward, like I used to. I'm certain now that I must have pulled or slightly torn my hamstring when I had that fall in Sweden, and then I kept reinjuring it in the gym by trying to strengthen the hamstring. Lots of time off, stretching, and very gentle hamstring exercise seems to help.
- my heel hasn't hurt since the fall, so taking three months off to cure mild plantar fascitis also seems to work.
- my private health insurance covers my orthotics! So I'm getting some custom ones made and should have them in a few weeks

The only downside is that Dailinger and another doctor he referred me to concluded that the trouble with my left knee really isn't solely a muscular thing. There's an issue with how the tendon is attached to kneecap and tibia, and this issue is always going to be there. They said I could try surgery, but that the outcome wasn't likely to be positive. So the plan is to strengthen and to start running once the snow finally melts, and see where that takes me.
