orienteering race (Chasing the Star - Middle) 2:41:51 [5] 2.92 km (55:26 / km) +120m 45:59 / km
shoes: New Balance all-terrian

A very special race for me. I have never been successful on an advance course at Hickory Run though I have tried a number of times over the years. I was really determined that I was going to get it done and I was extremely please that I did. It was a very nice clean course for me though I was slow but I was successful and that is all that matters to me.

orienteering race (Team Trials Sprints) 27:30 [4] 1.68 km (16:22 / km) +10m 15:54 / km
shoes: New Balance all-terrian

My best sprint yet. I really had a great time and had no mistakes at all.

orienteering race (SVO -QOC Mont Alto meet) 2:04:26 [5] 2.7 km (46:05 / km) +155m 35:48 / km
shoes: New Balance all-terrian

Almost 90% of the climb was going to the #1 control which took me almost 45 minutes to get to but the rest of the course was mostly down hill and a pleasure to do. I had some trouble with the #3 control but it turned out I went in to soon. I enjoyed the day and it was worth the 2 hour drive to get there.

orienteering race (DVOA _ Tyler State Park) 2:09:50 [5] 3.98 km (32:37 / km) +55m 30:31 / km
shoes: New Balance all-terrian

A great course. I really like it because #1 - 5 were sprint controls on the campus of the BCCC then we headed into the surrounding woods for #6 - 9 and then back into the campus buildings for 10 & 11 and then back into the woods for the last 3 controls. A really nice day and I was pleased with my time as it was the first brown course that I have finished in almost 2 years. I tried the brown course last saturday at WP but I just wasn't up to it after being sick the night before.

walking 15:10 [3] 0.5 mi (30:19 / mi)

I had to stopping walking long before I wanted to because of the pollen in the air. The last couple of days the pollen levels in our area has been extremely high and driving my eyes crazy. It is hard to walk with your eyes watering, itching and just plain bothering you. I hated to give up but I just was not having any fun.

Note

Rest day, my legs are really sore and I felt the need to take a one day break. Back to it tomorrow for sure.

orienteering race (WP yellow course) 1:50:21 [4] 2.72 km (40:34 / km) +95m 34:32 / km
shoes: New Balance all-terrian

The course was challenging yellow course which I really enjoyed since I would rather be working on getting back to my age class but was still not up to it from being sick on friday.
