started 2 min behind Andy
heard/saw Andy on 3/4/6
small errors on 1/3/4/6 means I was unable to catch him (not sure if those errors were me / bad map / wrong location - I would say a combination)
got tangled in Lantana on the way to 7 .. game over

2 1/2 mins behind Andy for 2nd place :)

was humid, ran ok, still trying to work out if i can run on these shoes without hurting my feet, tied the laces up differently and didn't feel discomfort until about 35 mins - so an improvement

went west to 29 then north to 25, skipping 2,10,3 then down the east skipping 4
control 21 was in the wrong place it was at the southern tip of the circle, but forgot to discuss this with others
back via 16,7,20,1,28 and sprint home with 4 secs to spare

Orienteering race (GOanna "goat" r) 50:35 [5] 7.85 km (6:27 / km) +180m 5:47 / km
ahr:170 max:181 slept:4.0 weight:84kg shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 333

Was running late and arrived 5 mins before start, started at the end of the pack.
decided on the way to #1 to skip #6 and the last control, but if I saw something better to skip on the way then swap that with the last

#1 remembered to start GPS
down to #2a from the road decided to go road from #2a to #3, was surprised not many were taking the road, was thinking this would be quicker than the track.
#4b was just behind someone at #3 and they went #4a, i was just ahead of them to #5
Skipped #6
#7b shorter and less climb, saw undy
#E still with undy
#B missed track, slow .. bad choice .. #A would have been better .. lost undy and about 1 minute
#C
#D ran past, 1/2 way to road, had to come back lost 30 secs
#8 half road, then thick bush someone grabbed my tail
#9 tried to shake them
#10a didn't shake them, track then contoured was too high, saw control between 10a and track, pasued while checking control number and contined, seemed to have trapped a few people
#11 hit track then slow up hill, lost track at rocks, so bush to #11
skipped #12, took track west from #11 then clearings to road near #13
#13 had to double punch, first time SI stick flashed but no beep, second time ok
saw shingo hit #13 and saw him in the distance at each control to #20, but couldn't catch him, made up some ground at #19 going through paddock.

was going to go #20a but decided to follow shingo to #20b, was guessing I started more than 10 seconds after him so if I could keep up with him I may beat him on time, wasn't able to catch him on running speed, he paused at track to #21, I saw the track on way to #20b so knew it was a little further.
got confused trying to follow track to finish which seemed to disappear ?!@

best 3 to skip I think was 3, 6 and 12 (didn't see the option of #2a - skip #3 - #4a until discussion at end) not sure which 2 of the 3 was best.

3rd with a few mispunching #10a finishing before me

Looking at #E to #B, it looks like there is a small track leading to rocks, but I think this is actually a couple of rock faces
