so focused
only just registered that me and katrin had met up around control 7 and she'd started just ahead of me but i had a slightly longer leg and she pulled away again until i saw her at 13 where i think i took too safe a route choice.then she pulled away downhill again! got to the last control, couldn't get the bloody emit in properly, a torrent of emit related abuse ran through my head and i sprinted down the runin determined to overtake the person in front, handed over to anwen and then just walked very slowly to the finish box.
was running much harder than usual as i had been really really nervous on the startline

was having quite a good run only messing up 2 slightly-losing ~90seconds, but messed up 6 a bit as i came in too early, then i messed up 7 very badly by wasting a load of time running around green rubbish looking for a pit instead of my control on a rootstock (why?). The rest was okay after then as i pulled myself together. until 15 when i had a long leg and just didn't run far enough, got myself confused and ended up at number 8, wasting time by not realising, then getting to the right hill and just not finding the veg boundary. reckon by this point i had already lost a good 15minutes over the whole course. felt quite deflated and sulky around the rest of the course

was feeling quite nervous about orienteering 8.5km as i hadn't orienteered that distance before and there was quite a bit of climb but i took anwens advice and just powered up any hills as there were only 'mini hills' down south.
had a good run, felt quite relaxed and knew what i was doing. messed up a little around 12/13 as i had been in the area before and was sure that i knew where my controls were.i didn't.
but still a good run

arghhhhhhhhh the stress!left 4 and a half hours for a 3 hour journey and ended up so badly in traffic I missed my start by 12 and a half minutes! it took me 19.02 minutes not 31.32 but i forgot to fill in a form so now my time is wrong in the results.
after running from the car park, finding my emit, getting a number, getting a crash course in how to use emit i set off and tried to concentrate. made a few errors just because my brain was a bit frazzled from the stress
messed up 9 as i was confused by the out of bounds bit so avoided it, nearly went wrong way to 10 and stood next to the wrong tree at 14 until i realised my tree was 5m to the left of me
