South-East Middle Distance Championships, at Gatton Park near Redhill. GPS says I ran 6.7km. Ran the Black (top) course. No real mistakes, just a bit slow - walked up some of the many hills. Finished around 16th, but apparently ended up 4th (I think) SEOA M21, so just missed out on a medal. Nick just beat me, also was only two minutes behind Paul, and two minutes in front of Evan (who got a medal for leading M35.) Hot weather, especially at the start. The section section was an urban-style sprint around a large school/house complex.

Run around most of the City Race 2011 Men's Open course with Tim. Lots of pauses while Tim spotted the best route and talked through his decision as we went.

Started raining as we crossed the start line, and got heavier and heavier... eventually decided to cut our run short, going from Control 16 to 26, as we were getting very cold and wet.

Lots of interesting, really technical legs, plus I also found quite a lot of corrections for the map. Unfortunately, the map I used was just a print-out onto normal paper, and so is a soggy clump of paper, so I'm going to have to rely on my memory...
