Orienteering in the Forest (setting controls) 1:30:00 [1]
Put out most of the controls for my event tomorrow at Beaver lake. Saw some sandhill cranes, an owl, and some deer. I forgot all my shoes except for my sandals so I had to do this in my mother's wellies :), but it meant my feet stayed dry.
Orienteering in the Forest (control placing/pickup) 1:00:00 [2] ***
Set out the controls for course 1 and 2, went to pick them up and I came across a large group that had started on course 1 right at 8 oclock urgg! so I had to reset them again!
Note
We had the Norwegian junior national coach in Calgary this past week so he set up some orienteering games for our juniors tonight instead of the regular coaching. We did orienteering bingo and "find the map symbol" game, I think the kids really liked it we should do more things like that.
Dougal and I also had an info session about JWOC terrain and how to train for orienteering with the coach. Very informative and motivating, and now i've got all the inside scoop on lithuanian terrain! (like light green will most likely be faster running than the white)
