Concrete/road run long (Long) 2:02:36 [4] 10.0 mi (12:16 / mi)

This is about as close as I can get to a 12 min pace. I thought the route was flatter but there was a piece with hills. As I was running the last 40 min, I ran behind an older gentleman who’s pace was consistent and 11:45. The only problem was that I had to work much harder than him on the uphills and then he went a shorter way. That left me on my own for the last 18 min and that was the toughest. I worked really hard to get this close and when I was done, I didn’t feel good for about an hour.

Swimming (Swimming) 15:00 [3]

My swimming is better. I’ll keep this up several times a week until 30 min is easy.

I missed my ride today. It rained all week so no trails were open. I didn’t want to do concrete on my road bike. Too many puddles. So my plan had been to do the stationary bike but too many things caused a delay and then I only had time for a swim. Friends invited us to the Indy car race which was great. It just didn’t leave any other time.

I think I found my trail race. It is actually a 25k in the morning and a 10k in the evening. It is 9/25. http://www.trailracingovertexas.com/paris-pair. I’ll let you know when I get registered. Now I’ll start looking for a local 5k.

Hope all is good for you. Skin tags are so annoying so hopefully it’s gone by now.

Concrete/road run intervals (6x .25) 55:00 [4]

There was finally a slowing in the raining so I did the run on my lunch hour. It was very important that I do this one outside rather than on the TM. It went really well. The 1st was the fastest @ 8:30 then the 5th @ 8:45. The remainder were each a bit slower but all under 9. My cool down was at a faster pace then usual and I got done a bit early but I needed to get back to work.

Treadmill hills (Hill walk) 30:31 [4] 2.1 mi (14:32 / mi)

I got my second COVID shot yesterday. My arm is beyond sore which did have an impact.

I tried to swim and tread water after this but lasted about 90 seconds. Just no way to move it without pain.

Concrete/road run (Easy flat) 45:00 [3] 3.9 mi (11:32 / mi)

I was headed to trail but went to a concrete trail instead. I just couldn’t do the spiders today. I kept it easy and fun. I have a funny snake story for you. During an early morning race, I had 2 guys running w me. We’re just having fun and they are telling me stories when all of a sudden they started whispering. I’m asked them what’s up. The guy behind me tells me that I just stepped on a big rattlesnake. I apologized the the 2nd guy and they are like huh? I told them the old adage, the first wakes them, second makes them mad and third gets bit.
We have some trails w rattlesnakes, most have copperheads, and one had a water moccasin. That one only bothered me twice and that was enough. It’s been gone for a few years.

Trail Run (Recovery rolling) 48:00 [3] 4.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

I kept it easy and just had fun. Tons of bikers mean that I have to pull over a lot which helped keep it easy.
