O race 23:50 [3] 3.5 km (6:49 / km)

First Wednesday night O event - the second last of the season - chose it as a new sprint map that covered 3 schools closely located and near our place - rode to and from the event. Distanced advertised as 2.1km - actual distance taken from someone else as I forgot to turn on the garmin - rats. made a big boo boo going from 3 to 4 (as did many others) - did not see the impassable fence then realised I had to virtually backtrack all the way past 2 to get to the control. Saw another route choice (which would have been better) and took it on the way back to 5. Rest was OK but nearly 5 minutes on one leg was a lot in a short race. had a chat to a new Canberra resident after the race - O-ing

Peleton of 4 - nice riding weather - won the post dam hill sprint with a withering late surge - thought I was being caught but realise now I was being chased by my shadow. For once the topic of conversation at coffee stop was not Trump. Helicopter circling the lake dragging a huge Navy flag (ensign) - could be practising or is today important to the navy?

Ride to the top of Stromlo and back again - 14% faster to the top than yesterday. That is 4.07 minutes quicker up and overall ride was 6.18 minutes faster - same route. New benchmark. Again nice riding weather.

Mix of dolphin, crocodile and lumbar stretches. Nice - sort of.

Ride to top of Stromlo and back via mix of single track and fire trails - 29.23 to the top to set a benchmark. Nice day for riding - 3rd exercise for the day!!

Relay of 6 legs - on my team I did 2 legs and one of the female scholars did the other 4. Time an estimate but distance correct - fast and furious if you could sprint uphill! Our team came third - just beaten by a team that included ex Australian Olympic Marathon runner - martin dent.

Buckenderra training camp weekend put on by scholars - middle distance course but with only SI units and small reflectors for the subsequent night event used. Made it tricky in the granite spotting the si unit but also meant need for more careful navigation - steep in parts but very nice in others with plenty of rock features - only a couple of small blemishes in the circle so did not lose much time. Course length advertised as 3.8 km so I went reasonably straight. Cool weather with a top of about 15C.

O race 48:00 [3] 3.0 km (16:00 / km) +150m 12:48 / km

Night event with a mass start format and lots of butterfly and forked legs - which was really great - included a sprint to the start SI unit - which I won (shorter course entrants had a head start). Nailed first few controls but then got put off by all the lights going past and followed some up a wrong hill before correcting and making more mistakes on 3 other controls. Great event as in the rocks we had been in the afternoon. Forgot to turn on the garmin because of the Le Mans type of start.

Into Civic and back with Liz to see Katie's new coffee workplace. Owner won the World Barista Champs a couple of years ago - it is a' speciality' coffee place and we had the Black Betty version - designed to go with milk - very nice and tasty - maybe there is something in speciality coffees?

Nice riding weather - warm with little wind. Rode on dirt roads about 25 per cent of the time.
