O race 1:18:20 [3] 5.9 km (13:17 / km) +165m 11:39 / km

WMOC Final in M65A on a longer course than the Qualifiers. Estimate I ran closer to 8 km as forgot to turn on Garmin. Small errors on 4 controls but rest were good. Light rain made it a touch harder as glasses need occasional clean and we're trying to fog up a bit. Course structure reduced the scope for road legs making it more physical. Altho I took roads and tracks were possible. 44th of 80 A starters. Last of 9 O races in 14 days. Feeling a lot fitter. Great carnival and great holiday.

O race 46:56 [3] 4.91 km (9:34 / km) +188m 8:01 / km

WMOC Long Qualifier 2 and a much better run than yesterday. Area far more technical so used tracks a lot to get closer to control sites before venturing into steeper and more detailed terrain than on qualifier 1. Advertised distance and climb was 3.9 km and 150 metres. Only had a slight wobble near 8 but as I corrected saw Lost _Richard punch it which was fortunate as I could then use him like a target in the cross hairs for the last two technical controls before a long run to the finish. Finished 11th in heat and 17th over the two days which gets me into the A final on Friday.

O race 57:35 [3] 6.01 km (9:35 / km) +150m 8:31 / km

WMOC Long Qualifier 1 and glad I am in the right heat again. Dropped 2 minutes on control 2 by stopping too early and having to relocate of the nearby road and then 5 minutes on control 8 when went a ridge too far and had to relocate of a water point. Despite these losses am still in reach of the A final if I put in a better run tomorrow. Around 3 minutes off 21 st place (29th today ). In other two heats this time would have put me in mid to high 30 th place. Very nice forest to run thru and nailed nearly all other controls ( two small wobbles in control circles). Hard to hold compasses bearing as all trees look the same and often forced to run around clumps of cutting grass putting you off the bearing. Course distance advertised as 4.6 km so I did a fair bit more

O race 18:03 [3] 2.57 km (7:01 / km) +40m 6:31 / km

WMOC Sprint Final and 17th place in the M65A event. Much better run than the qualifier and being an early starter I held first place for at least 26 finishers (80 in the A final ). Comparing splits with David Marshall looks like I dropped a minute on leg 9 (altho winsplits says 43 seconds) going thru the tunnel and overrunning the narrow building (which is what a lot of people did) as the tunnel went into an enclosed walkway at the end. Felt a bit slow at the start in the park but settled and ran better in the middle and latter part of the course. Might have place 10 th without the small error on 9. Still around 3 minutes slower than the winner with a mistake free run!! Well set up arena in the buildings.

O race 22:17 [3] 2.3 km (9:41 / km) +40m 8:55 / km

Might have scraped into the A final after a less than stellar Sprint Qualifier at WMOC. Errors on legs 3,13 and 16. Got distracted by another runner which resulted in a poor route choice to 13. Great technical area and a big field. Might have picked the right heat as some others with faster times in their heats might have missed the cut. Scope to improve tomorrow. Just saw the splits which says I lost 4.02 !! Mistake free run would have put me 4 th!!!!
