O race 47:29 [3] *** 3.87 km (12:16 / km) +121m 10:37 / km
spiked:14/15c

Middle Distance at Tallowa Gully - a cool area with sandstones cliffs and boulders off ridges and gullies and some thicker bits - first run of any kind for 4 weeks - result 1st in M65A class and beat the young M60As as well. Course probably a bit long with 15 controls and some tough climb at the end. Nailed the leg that confused a few others by dropping early and just following a contour rather than going via a termite mound (which was mapped in the wrong place - so said quite a few). Cold and very very windy - start was highly exposed and key issue was to hold the map tightly before it got blown away - once in the forest it was fine.

MTB 1:08:49 [3] 17.79 km (3:52 / km) +264m 3:36 / km

Usual ride to arboretum for coffee via national zoo single tracks - again did not press it too hard - real strong headwind in parts as cold front approached CBR. Made it home just before the rain. Peleton of 4 sans the dog (who had a better offer).

Short hit out on single tracks at Stromlo - nice - get it in before the rain expected tomorrow.

ride with Peter 1:40:00 [3] 39.3 km (2:33 / km) +320m 2:27 / km

Peleton of 5 there and 6 home - frost had gone by the time we started (10am) and a sunny still day - still in recovery mode nearly 4 weeks since I got this bug - went early in the hill sprint to avoid having a head to head race - worked as no one else went for the prize money. Felt tired on the hill getting home. Running will be a shock - entered 2 NSW O events this weekend.
