Walking 15:00 [2] 1.41 km (10:38 / km)

Orienteering race 1:49:07 [4] 6.72 km (16:14 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

My first meet since mid-January. Walked the whole course. I have switched to Inov-8 shoes - love them. Also using rail rider pants now that are treated with Permithan. They worked well today.

I had little problem locating the controls because of the slow pace, I was hitting them just about right on. I made a couple bad route choices - to #11 cutting through the village. To 21 I cut through the village again. (half of my lost time was here) Distance wise not much difference it was all the extra contour lines I traveled. I aimed off a little too far on 17, knew where I was but had to hug the rim a bit longer than I had planned. The splits showed almost a minute of lost time from 8 to 9. I cut straight through the brush, must of been faster using the trails.

Orienteering 1 [3] 0.1 km (10 / km)
shoes: Rail Rider Pants

Tracking the washings on the rail rider pants - the bug killer formula works for 70 washings.

Mapping 3:25:00 [3] 7.21 km (28:26 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

Celebrated the end of tax season with a mapping trip to Camp Stem. Still locating the permanent control locations, pulling GPS waypoints at each one. I will be using these locations for the meet. Jim Carter was with me and pulled a tick off, so they are out.
