Orienteering race 36:56 [4] 2.1 km (17:35 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

Frustrating sprint for me. Two controls were off, I debated moving them, but always hate to do that. Dan did move one of them. Mostly the problem was caused by numerous new trails that have been added on the ground but not on the map. I did better at mentally fighting through it, but still struggled. My biggest issue is still getting back speed. After 4 months off I can't just snap my fingers and return to pretax season form.

Excellent turnout again.

Orienteering 2:00:00 [3] 4.2 km (28:34 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

The meet went well at Camp Stem today. Our partnership got off to a good start with the girl scouts. We had 45 in attendance.

I had two hours to pick up controls before I had to leave. I grabbed 8. No one else could help, so hopefully we'll be able to coordinate the pickup this week.

Walking 34:00 [1] 2.82 km (12:03 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Working through all the burps and hiccups of the Saturday meet. First time I have worked with Pam at the Girl Scouts and she will be a big asset for us. Loves the outdoors.

No idea of the number coming. I always like to get at least 20 to a first time event like this, but the timing is falling on graduations, end of school year, etc.

Weather should be ideal starting off at sunrise at 42 and peaking at 62 in the evening. Also calling for it to be dry. There was very little rain down here today and quite windy, hope that will give good footing tomorrow.

Orienteering 5:30:00 [3] 8.55 km (38:36 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

I got the remaining 11 controls hung today at Camp Stem. It was made interesting by the recent rains. I went ahead and posted some briefing notes on the club facebook page. Nothing worse than getting your map, making a plan only to have to change everything when you hear the briefing. I could attach to the attackpoint event if I knew how to attach a file.

Orienteering 3:15:00 [3] 9.35 km (20:51 / km)
shoes: INOV TERROC 330

Setting controls in the rain at Camp Stem - between Jim and I we got out 20 of the 31. Jim covered 5.35 KM to put out his 8 today. We were both using a GPS to check our control placement.
