Orienteering race 40:49 [4] 6.0 km (6:48 / km)
shoes: Innov X-talon Yellow

WOC Cub event - Newlands - Long Orange - 4.6Km 230m
Probably wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't been taking Oli to the CSW prizegiving as it was a miserable day. First rainy day with the new glasses and they work much better, although the map reading is still a bit awkward at times.
Fairly easy course as expected, though some interesting route choices. Rather stupidly lost about 30s at 11, but otherwise clean. Legs a bit tired.

Suspect it won't be long before Adam's beating me - can I hold out until he turns 14?

Warming up and down.

Running race 15:33 [4] 3.5 km (4:27 / km)
shoes: Innov X-talon Yellow

Victoria University Relay - Queen Elizabeth Park
My first XC race in many many years and first XC Relay since I was at Uni. Good fun, in a masochistic sort of way. Course was good - around the dunes with a few climbs. Running 4th leg so everyone was quite spread out. Passed a number of teams in the first half and then running on my own until the end. Could probably have pushed a bit harder with company.
Fastest leg : 11:28 Fastest M50 : 14:07

Friday May 7 #

Cycling 38:08 [3]

Russells & Johnsons dead ends, then Avro.
Just a short one today given tomorrow's race. Felt good on the climb.

Thursday May 6 #

Running 52:13 [3] 12.0 km (4:21 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

To SIlverstream (along the road now), around Pinehaven, and back via Chatsworth. Less stopping as there was only a small group for the second half. Feeling pretty good.

Wednesday May 5 #

Note

Usual rest day lunchtime walk. Breaking in the next pair of shoes after deciding that the cushioning was getting fairly worn out yesterday.

Tuesday May 4 #

Running 1:00:59 [3] 10.0 km (6:06 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Into Witako at the top, down to the water tanks (almost), then back via Chatsworth, BMR. Also about 5 mins exploring near the top of Witako.
Not in the best of form. Heavy-legged.

Monday May 3 #

Cycling 58:21 [3] 25.31 km (2:18 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop ACW
Whole body a bit stiff and sore after the weekend so thought it might be a struggle. But felt OK once I got going and pretty good up the hill at the end.
