Orienteering race 1:47:32 [3]
shoes: Icebug

Billygoat. Quite a fun race! After the first few controls a pack formed and surprisingly remained intact for most of the race inspite of splitting up several times. Two major mistakes, one at 11 (2.5 minutes) drifting too far to the right - and I knew it, but did not insist to correct; and one at 22 (I overran). After 21, my glasses hung themselves onto a tree branch, and thanks to Hillary, I was able to retrieve them - would not have been able to find them myself. I stopped to repair them, and while sitting my left leg cramp set in again - it had been latent for about 20 minutes, but was very limited to a small muscle behind the knee (a sciatica issue it seems). It took away from my navigation concentration, and hence I overran 22. So ended up at the end of the pack. Overall it was fun having company, racing towards the flag with the young women (Kseniya and Lina), trading sides with the Saegers, chasing behind the big orange cruiser Ted, and not letting Tim getting out of site.
Thanks to Alex, Ed and Izzy for making it happen! Awesome, guys!
