Faced with the prospect of coming home and staring at the wall for six hours till bedtime, I asked the wall, "What would Greg do?" The wall said he would go train - I must be like Greg. Don't sass me, wall.

So I set myself a nice course at Soaring Eagle. Went mostly okay, except I was apparently never even in the same zip code as 5 which is just really disturbing. Unclear how I went so wrong there. Also they've done a big clear-cut in the last month in the area around 3 (which used to be the most open, runnable part of the whole map) so detoured around that. And missed 11 and 14, but good stuff overall. Tough to keep a bearing while getting pushed around by veg.

Some good news - my car insurance went up a lot less than expected; only about $100 a year. I suspect this is because my car, while a hell of a lot more high-maintenance than a 2002 Subaru Forester with 200k miles, is also among the very safest vehicles ever made (or even the absolute safest, as argued by some).

In addition, I discovered that the cost of car tabs for the first year are (usually) baked into your taxes when you buy the car. As I did not know this I was expecting to get rekt by a stupidly astronomical car tab fee, since in WA our fees are calculated based on a somewhat dubious vehicle valuation scheme which is widely reviled and directly led to an successful initiative capping car tab fees at a excessively low level. In turn, this initiative threatens to catastrophically wreck state, county, and local transportation budgets, but has naturally been challenged as unconstitutional by numerous governmental entities and will now be fought out in the courts. Good work, everyone.

Thought I knew every pothole for 15 miles, but succeeded in finding a new one today. And now my wheel isn't true anymore.

Legs totally post-Sprint-Camp trashed. I came third overall, my best finish of some 6-7 Sprint Camps - though to achieve this a global pandemic which knocked out like half the start list was required...
