Bog Slog 2020! First "real" orienteering since March (with apologies to Griz-O and LROC). This was also my last ever race as an M21...time sure flies.

Felt real rough physically but it was just enjoyable to be in the woods, and really nice to see a bunch of the usual suspects before/on the course/afterward. Unfortunately, I fell coming down a steep slope and put two deep gashes in my left forearm; I could tell right away they were more than just scratches, but as I was only 3-4 easy controls from the finish I decided to carry on. There was a decent amount of blood, but not much pain. At the finish I got some rudimentary first aid before heading to an urgent care facility. Of course I would do this when the club is trying to follow Covid protocols...

Other thoughts - I haven't decided whether to apply for the team next year. I've long thought of M35 as a natural transition point - but that was always under the assumption of a normal 2020, one last NAOC and so on. As such maybe I'll have to stave off becoming officially washed for one more year.
