Cycling 50:00 [3]

Cycling to/from Horspath Industrial Estate to pick up the minibus. Seemed to need a bit more effort than before, maybe that's because I've adjusted the brakes ;) 25 mins each way

Orienteering 1:04:20 [4] ** 8.6 km (7:29 / km) +185m 6:45 / km
spiked:16/21c shoes: VJ Falcons

Godshill and Millersford Regional Event, New Forest

M21S - 8.6km, 185m climb, 20 controls (+ nav finish)

First run for a couple of weeks due to the shin splint problem, which fortunately didn't feel too bad out there - probably because the ground was nice and soft. Worst feeling I had was when walking up a hill... I don't seem to have much physical conditioning either - nowhere near the levels near the end of last term. Analysis in racing, with splits - worst miss was when I messed up the finish :-O Still managed to beat a hungover angryhaggis by 4 mins though.

Cycling 35:00 [2]

Cycle up through Cowley to Hollow Way, then back via Wood Farm, JR and Marston Ferry Road. When you put the brakes full on down a hill and very little happens, and you need the bumper on a parked car to stop, it suggests you need to alter the brakes...

Note

Did the Phot-O session from those I took on Sunday at Brill during club lunch. Could have been improved significantly but didn't have the time to sort out control descriptions, and my printer was refusing to work. As it's a pretty tricky area - all the photos were on contour features - and it was difficult to judge depth from the photos, SGB suggested I could have drawn on the circles and also several decoys to give people a bit more of a chance. Very good idea for that sort of area I think, something to note for the future. I'm still learning about this sort of thing after all.

Stretching 20:00 [1]

Series of stretches and exercises to try to strengthen areas linked with knee/shin/ankles. No major reaction from injury which is promising
