"Charmhaven". 24/52 points, 0 penalties (75mins), 12/30c. First-ever MTBO. Ctrls 1-10 had to be done in order, then as many of the remaining 20 in what's left of the 75-minute time limit. Took a while to work out when I should be looking at the map or where my front wheel is going. Autopilot map board worked fine. I have ordered a newer set of nobbly tyres for next time. A bit short of #1 (lost 1:30) and #2 (1:20) and overshot #5 (10:00). Otherwise OK. Took 56:25 for my compulsory controls (20pts). Wasn't sure how much distance I could cover in the remaining time. Just collected 2 more to finish with 24/64 points. 37th/45. Room for improvement.

Berowra<>Mt Kuring-gai trails: Bambil - Gandah (out) - Hamley - Bambil - Ti-Tree (return). The Gandah trail is an unofficial downhill MTB track which would definitely be better W-E rather than the E-W direction I went. Stats: 0.57km, 8:47, +91m, -22m (12.1%).

Note

Just saw the movie 'Unbroken' from Gold Class seats. Adam appears about 14' in at the school training scene (aka Camden Showground) and Bethany at about 30' in the Berlin Olympics (aka Blacktown athletics track). But if you blink, you'll miss them. An almost unbelievable true story. The POW scenes are pretty violent though, deserving of the 'M' rating. Angelina's crew did a good job converting Cockatoo Island into a Japanese work camp. Looked similar but different to Day 2 of the X5D event last month.
