"Timber Tops", Mt Fairy (Bungendore). M45AS / Red 4: 3.5km, +70m, 12c. 1st/1 in M45AS: ACT Champion! 4th/42 on R4. Fastest on #7. Mass start. Pivot at #2 into two 'butterfly' loops (triangles) with 4 more controls to finish. Hesitation to #3 as I seemed a little right and low. Not much energy over the closing controls (illness?). Short legs kept the difficulty level down. Very wet underfoot. Lots of fallen trees made fast running and bearings difficult to maintain. Tried elastic laces for the first time on my Nikes. No more double knot failures. Surprisingly more comfortable. 1 wallaby. 11°C. TE 3.5.

Schools Knockout, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush (3 to 9.30pm). Fun night. A few problems with the photo finish camera early not capturing every image. The 2nd 100m race had to be rerun. The final relays were pretty exciting (100-300-200-400). Cold getting worse. 22-19°C.

Parramatta Park. 2 x 3.15km laps (6:59, 7:19). I think I'm catching a cold. I hope it's not as bad as the one back in June (32d). Dr Google seems to say that exercise is OK when all symptoms are above the neck, although the intensity could be reduced. 21°C. TE 2.5.
