First BC Masters Cycling I've raced in a long while. Gotta do more....great organization and post race delectables.

Australian Pursuit: Started off with a large group and did a lap and a half before the first and only break away. I kept with the leaders but was dropped on a hill and couldn't bridge the gap without red-lining and I wasn't into prolonged pain racing this day (yup, call me wussy-man) so I pedalled alone for a lap, then was caught by a passing group of younger riders, took a bit of a rest on the train, slapped myself for being a slacker and started to pull my share.

Ok race, however my low back is giving me grief.

4th in my age group and 11th overall.

Hill Climb - was 13 secs off my last Neild Road climb....didn't feel very well during the ride out to the race location. I haven't been working on any hills this year and it showed. I wasn't ready for this race. I was designated/coerced into riding first and C was starting behind me at one minute interval....I knew he was going to pass me as he's a great rider and felt I was reconciled to that fact but it does deflate the ego when you get passed on a course like this. Anyhow, I went out too fast and paid for it at the end. Even thought of quitting at about the 2km mark as I wasn't feeling the love; that was a fleeting moment and I carried on as my cadence dropped and my lungs collapsed. I tried to sprint to the finish line however that was lackluster too.
