Fun race....however, during the neutral lap I went down on an off camber descent with turn and the rider behind wasn't able to avoid me. End result was chain ring gouges on my left buttock (quite symmetrical and oddly fascinating to look at), bruised L knee and sore shoulder and back, courtesy of Kevin and his bike.

No MOMAR for me this weekend. L knee too sore and and my back has stiffened up.

Meh. My plan was to go at 90% to get the feel of the race and other racers....could have done much better and my fitness was ok.

Mass start, no categories, no rankings...just get it done.

I started at the back of the pack and had to make my way up to the front twenty which was entertaining. Held onto that placing and then moved up to 15th or so, then had to bail after trying to bunny hop over C who went down in front of me....jumped back on the bike and pedaled furiously - chain was off. Of course! I thought I had found cycling nirvana, that unobtainable no friction and ease of pedaling....finally got my act together and did my last lap. Great course set up.

Slow ride talking to various peeps, finally came across P who had watched the race and pedaled alongside him, hoping he would offer a wobbly pop to me as he had two, one in each hand (Stella and Heinee, each with those lovely beads of water formed on the outside of the bottle) however he never rose to the occasion and proffered even a sip...buh!)
