Mud. Lots of it. Tire grabbing, gear grinding, derailleur snapping mud mixed with hay....and that was the good section of the course. Riding through a barn. Slaloming hay bails. Yam fries being handed out. Rain, drizzle, sprinkling, sun....everything but snow.

Good race but I was not riding technically well the first 2 laps and just didn't have the flow. Finally figured out my issues and was able to claw back a bunch of spots. This was a race of attrition with the mud adding on kilo's to the bike and sucking the power out of the legs.

My legs didn't like this one. Six laps of a sicko course featuring two sand pits, 50 stairs, two barriers, a rash of roots, epic battling around corners, errant frisbee golf discs, and Dik Cox. My legs may have complained, but it was a damn fine day.

Cross Club Race - Vic West: 6 laps. Felt harder than normal, laboured breathing and couldn't get my legs. First lap pile up with riders ahead of me when they hit the sand pit - lots of endos with arms and legs a flailin'. Was able to push my way through it without running anyone over and that caused a break from the main pack. Ok race, lost a couple of positions due to lack of endurance. 10th?
