Run 1:08:41 [3]
shoes: Montrail Continental Divide

Club run around Thetis L - Left heel bothered me at the end, most likely due to the ice and frozen snow on the trails.

Spinning 2:10:00 [4]

19 of us crammed into Gerrys' garage to partake in another Synergy spin class with Coach Troy barking gear ratios and effort levels at us, at the same time, we were able to watch a surfing movie, 'surfers paradise' to distract us from the boredom of butt numbing riding. Before the capability of splitscreen wonders, I would distract myself by seeing how long a trickle of sweat would take to form and then roll off the end of my nose which, in a way, was an added form of training as I would try to lengthen the event as much as possible by keeping my upper body quiet when spinning hard.

Such as it was, the garage was jam packed - like riding in a peloton and trading elbows - I was fortunate having arrived late, that I was set up by the door and could regulate the amount of fresh, cold air coming in - the hard working folks furthest from the door were stuck with stale, humid air that increased in temperature as combined efforts increased. Sucked to be them ;-)

...and the best part was Gerry performed Martha Steward/Julia Child culinary magic and baked a batch of cinnamon buns (whole wheat too,) for all of us to nosh on post ride.....a Guiness would have been appreciated too.

Run 54:32 [3]
shoes: adidas sumthin' or other

Mt Doug at night with head lamp - the trails were a combination of soggy, slushy snow , hard packed slippery snow and mud.

The heel felt ok during the run, but was a bit sore towards the end....likely as I was running in my Adidas which are a road shoe and didn't have the traction required - besides, I was pussy-footing about trying to keep my feet dry in the slushy, muddy sections avoiding a cold soaker. Of course, it was inevitable that my feet would get wet, so after the guaranteed soaking, I muttered to my self that I should have just sloshed thru the first wet section and got it over with rather than dance about on the side of the trail.

I have an MRI to my left ankle/heel tomorrow morning - it's not likely to show anything other than a 50 year old left ankle/heel with OA but you never know...the doc is not sure if I had a poor healing stress fracture, peroneal tendon issue or bone spur. Whatever it is, it's been too long for my recovery. Buh.
