Warm up and course preview. Nice single track with some technical sections.

Started as far back from the front row as one could as I wasn't seeded. First 100 m was spent snaking my way up front before the first left handed corner, then a bit of acceleration to dive into the first tight L hand turn and then a switchback...carnage with bumping and elbowing.

Wasn't able to bridge past my 14th place finish (however that was with one mechanical and my attempt to take out a tree with my head on the single track).

Overall, a so-so race - have to be more aggressive at the start as this is where you gain position. I held back somewhat and it cost me - there were few places to pass on this course and I didn't capitalize.

Slacker ride this Thurs night - stopped to help with flats x 2 then paced lined back with six others. Good solid riding during the pace line, good form and smooth line.
