Run 1:36:34 [2] 10.8 mi (8:56 / mi) +157m 8:33 / mi

Decided to run from JP to Cambridge and it was so nice I kind of just kept running. I visited both November Project sites, running up Summit Ave and doing five sections of the Harvard Stadium. Then on to the closed-for-Sunday Memorial Drive and home. Not a bad run at all! It's nice when it's 70 and the dew point is crashing down through the 40s. I think this weather is forecast to hold for the next few days. Long runs ftw! And getting excited about Cat Rock on Thursday although it might be muggier.

Oh, and no back pain. But I'm still going to stretch. I did leave my bike helmet at my parents and now have to borrow one to Hubway back, but this is not the end of the world.

Also, discovered what would be a fantastic Park-o—the area between Jamaica Pond and Brookline Village called Olmsted Park. A good amount of terrain, a lot of small features, and tons and tons of confusing trails. Everything you'd want in a Park-o. Plus parking, T accessibility and close to the city. Oh, Ed, want to map this with me?

Run 47:00 [2] 5.9 mi (7:58 / mi)

Nice run to Market Basket, which is amazing. So much kale! But … don't eat lots of ice cream before a run, it makes digestion be happy and fun!

Run (NP) 44:31 [3] 5.0 mi (8:54 / mi) +333m 7:23 / mi

November Project today was hills! Three, six or nine up the main climb on Summit. This gave me a good excuse to try something new: I did five main climbs and one run down Beacon Street to run up the Summit Path stairs. Verdict: the stairs are harder than the hill. But the recovery is longer.

Felt pretty good running up the hill the last time, and if I didn't have a job I would have done more. But I do, and we took a wicked cool tour of the Central Artery (like, we went inside it, which is ridonk) and now it's hot and muggy and I'm glad I'm not running. What's that, you say? 70 in July will be cold. Well for now it is hot. I am ignoring you.

Run 37:42 [2] 4.9 mi (7:42 / mi)

Was going to run earlier, and then it started thunderstorming. And, I got caught up in the Internet. Oh, well, after it stopped pouring (yay, for the garden's sake) I did a five which felt pretty okay. And I made dinner before and had a lovely roommate turn on the oven so there were nachos when I got home, which was pretty okay. Oh, and now making bread. Mmm. Food. Basically my attackpoint should be about my love-love relationship with food. Yup.

Run 1:22:41 [1] 9.3 mi (8:53 / mi)

My sister had a long run on her "training plan" for today, so I joined in. The issue was that, ugh, it is like summer humid. The wind off the water lost the battle, and while it wasn't hot it was muggy. About half way through she summed up my feelings that it was "awful" and it continued that way. Certainly not fast; I felt so much better two days ago when it was 48! And it was only in the 60s; I can't wait for summer. Ugh. Now I'm sitting at home eating fruit and things.

Note

Noticed results from the Park-O yesterday. Wait, yesterday? I thought it was tomorrow. Turns out that with nationals coming up, it was moved forward two days. I would complain that this was not communicated very well (at all) but so it goes. Which means I have to do something non-O tomorrow afternoon. But what shall it be? Will the rollerskis be making their first appearance of the season?

Run 27:10 [1] 3.3 mi (8:14 / mi)

GF in town, went to go pick up Chinese, which didn't happen. Long story. I got/made about 6 phone calls on the "run" which is a good reason not to take a phone along.

Note
(injured)

Need to figure out how to put injuries in AP. Bad back sucks, since the best remedy seems to be "STOP DOING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO." I am doing a lot of stretching, tyvm, and don't know how I feel about it. It's almost yoga. But it makes me feel better. Weird, yes. Maybe it will help me be more flexible, which would be nice, because I am the LEAST FLEXIBLE PERSON EVER. Okay, time to go for a fake run to the grocery store so I can eat food for dinner.

Run 40:29 [3] 5.6 mi (7:14 / mi)

OH I FELT GOOD! THIS IS GOOD! My back doesn't hurt, and my legs aren't jello, and my 5k from Community Boating to the River Street Bridge was under 22, and my back doesn't hurt! Did I mention my back doesn't hurt? I felt so darned good and if it wasn't late would have run forever and hope this weather never ever goes away because it's just perfect 7s t-shirt weather. See, I am happy now. TIme to go stretch, shower and go to Neighbor Night. Because a little booze never killed anyone.
