orienteering race 7:54:00 [3]

holy macaroni i have never been in so much pain in my whole entire life. eric and i took on this rogaine with the intent to get all of the controls. and we definitely gave it a darn good try. i measured the distance as being 50km but it's hard to count in all the little squiggles with a headphone cord so it's probably up near 55km. we only bobbled a few tricky controls and even then we did our best to recover quickly and only waste 5-10min. reading the map was no problemo but sometimes things came up really fast and other times it took forever to get anywhere. the woods were super dee duper nice in most parts, although the swamps were a bother to cross (we lost 10min trying to get across one because the beaver had totally slacked off on his job). as far as food went... well we just tried to get us much sugar and calories into our tummies as we could without pucking. i also tried to eat a sandwich at around the 2.5hr mark and i nearly inhaled part of it cause we were climbing up a hill. my favourite part was definitely the last two hours where we knew that we had to really boogie to make it back on time and so we just flew down the trails and up these two massive climbs and oh my goodness it was so epic. least favourite part was definitely the trails that had been cleared but still had all of the tree stumps left in them. i stubbed my toes sooo many times and they are still incredibly tender. oh and somehow i also managed to faceplant tripping over a fence and completely bust up my leg once again. my gash from switzerland was almost healed but now it's a crater. gosh darnit! every little bit of pain was worth it though because we came in with 6min to spare and we only missed a 5-pointer control and a 10-pointer control. i am in need of some serious recovery though... good thing the gatineau rogaine isn't for another month. :P

running 49:48 [3]
ahr:151 max:194

molly came out with me to the track on her bike so i could run around in circles with company!! we did 8x400m and i'm pretty sure that if she wasn't threatening to run me over if i didn't speed up every lap that i would've gone much slower. so thanks molly!!!! <3

i'm super dee duper happy with the consistancy of the times oh and we took 2min just walking between each one.

running 10:00 [3]

today we went running in weightfit class. ahhahaha.... we did a 1.5km loop with one set of stairs about halfway. everyone was doing pretty well until those stairs. then they just dropped off and walked the rest of the way. ooh goodness... although if i smoked everyday then i don't think i'd be able to run very far either.

strength 30:00 [3]

the first 15min is from class before we ran... and then the last 15min were right before beddy-by. soo sleepy :)

dragged myself over to carlington after school and even convinced myself to do the hill 10 times instead of the usual 8. that was before i ran the first set and then i had to trick myself saying i'd only do 8 and then at the very end sneak in those last 2.... and it actually worked. wow...

yet another weightfit class of core shtuff. had a complete circuit with i think 14 stations which we did twice with 1min at each one. it was sooooo gross cause all the guys would sweat buckets on the mats and balls and then we'd come along and have to use them. yuck!
