Orienteering race 1:00:00 [3]

Not a fun day.
Not at all.

My hips felt extremely sore and tight at the start of the race despite having warmed up prior to that. Didn't think much about it though and started anyways.

Throughout the course, I kept feeling a sharp pain in my hip as well as having the surrounding muscles cramp, and they weren't easing up. This was a different kind of scenario for me and I started to panic because I was unsure if the pain was going to keep on escalating or lock up completely, so I excused my self from racing any further and immediately got an orthopedic doctor to take a look at my hips and attempt to stretch/relax them.

"Are you 30?"
"No ma'am, I'm 19..."

Apparently I need to do more yoga and less soccer, which is absolutely fine by me, I don't ever want to have to go through that again.

Orienteering race 51:46 [3]

First Orienteering race since Norway!

Aspects I'm happy about:
1) My physical ability to keep running
2) The lack of twisted ankles
3) Bearings were on point

Aspects I'm not happy about:
1) A Bulgarian Chauga song was stuck in my head
2) I doubted myself when I shouldn't have
3) Trump might actually become president
4) I treated this race as a training rather than an actual race #OnlyPersonInF20

I am waiting for the day when orienteering maps are made for the entire state of Vermont, that way I won't have to wait for "map training" until an actual race
