Running 45:03 [3] 7.5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 TrailRoc 255

Trail run at Margaret Lewis Reserve in Coldstream. Nice morning, but one of those times when light drizzle falls from a mostly blue sky.

Road cycling 1:17:30 [3] 28.0 km (2:46 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Rolling hills around Coldstream wineries, the quieter and nicer part of the Yarra Valley. Some difficult climbs and good downhills.

Orienteering race 24:19 [4] 4.4 km (5:32 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 TrailRoc 255

Melbourne street-o at Blackburn. Managed to just beat Asha Steer to the first, then we went different ways. I think our routes were about even, although she might have had an edge on speed. However, I made an error running to a dead end, 1.5-2 mins, during which the Arthur boys passed me, so 4th was the result.

Road cycling 2:20:00 [3] 46.0 km (3:03 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Anglesea to Geelong, then Lilydale to Coldstream. Early start after some fruit & yogurt, dull day, threatening to drizzle but not quite managing it. Up the long, long hill out of Anglesea, disappointed to find the anticipated brekkie place closed. Of two possible ways to Geelong we probably picked the wrong one, based on out of date info that did not mention the M1 extension. There was a bike lane, but heaps of very fast traffic making this an unpleasant ride.

Finally made it into Geelong centre after a few adjustments to the guide book route, found a cafe which had excellent coffee (best on the tour) but little in the way of substantial breakfast. It was close to the station, so we made it in time for a morning train to Melbourne with time to buy a couple of sandwiches at the station.

Quick transfer at Southern Cross to a Lilydale train got us there by just after 2pm, then a very scary ride on a busy highway out to Coldstream.

Road cycling 3:09:20 [3] 63.6 km (2:59 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Queenscliff to Anglesea. Started with a visit to Pt Lonsdale, then Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads. Followed the coastal road which ended with a nice surprise, a new bike path linking Black Rock with the Torquay road. Surprisingly hard to find a decent cafe in Torquay, then we were into the hilly bit around Bells Beach, and a nice downhill into Anglesea, once again earlier than anticipated.

Road cycling 2:25:00 [3] 51.6 km (2:49 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Start of 3 day ride around the bay. Frankston to Sorrento. Stopped in Mt Martha for breakfast, savoury muffin & fruit toast. Bike lane most of the way, but a 5km section through Mt Martha signed 'Cyclists Single File' where there is a narrow road and no bike lane, so cyclists would actually be safer if they were two abreast. Arrived Sorrento earlier than anticipated, lunched on fruit from IGA then coffee and cake at a nice cafe. Ferry ride uneventful, except the boat was full of Vespa riders on a club ride. Off the ferry to look for our digs, there were hundreds of Harley Davidsons riding around Queenscliff, but they all disappeared after 5.30pm.

Went for a walk and visited the Maritime Museum and the Harbour Tower (great views of Port Philip Bay entrance). Dinner at a nice Asian place with very friendly owner. Great Indonesian meatballs with sticky sauce.
