Orienteering race 56:59 [3] 5.0 km (11:24 / km)

Forgot my O shoes, so very tentative on the rougher trails. Did the 5k Trail course, which involved controls all on tracks with good route choices. Best strategy would have been to use tracks entirely, but I couldn't resist taking some cross country options, all of which cost me time.

Got the fastest splits on the two uphill legs.

Road cycling 1:32:00 [3] 32.8 km (2:48 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Hoobloodyray! Finally out on the bike, but had to change the back tyre first because contrary to some experts* advice the wind trainer had worn the previous one down by at least a millimetre. Probably still ok, but didn't want to take the chance on being stranded miles from home with a gash in the tyre.

Bassendean ride with PP, in SCR about 60% of it. Hand felt ok, a little sore now but no too bad, and not as bad as it felt while changing the tyre.

Orienteering race 52:07 [3] 5.2 km (10:01 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 2nd pair

Day 2 at Dryandra, calf ok again, but felt that it was always likely to go.

Ok until 5, a termite mound. Got to the right area (low spur) and just couldn't see it, although I could see several root mounds which at times have been mapped in WA as TMs. Eventually spotted a hint of orange after wasting the best part of a minute. Bad route to 7 going right around a breakaway adding at least 200m and 3+ minutes (it was slow country, green and rocky) when I should have braved the green in the direct route up a broad gully. Anthea got me by 9 minutes for the second time, but somehow I managed to be best male on H3 over the two days and won another glass.
