Road cycling 1:45:00 [3] 42.6 km (2:28 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

West Coast ride - did it today as tomorrow seems likely to be too hot.

Orienteering race 43:36 [3] 5.08 km (8:35 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Parkclaw 275

Metro race at Sorrento. Only a race for my first 3 controls before the breathing problem kicked in. After that, I mostly walked as every time I tried to run I couldn't get air into my lungs. Brain affected by lack of oxygen caused a route choice error, eventually leading to have to go past the finish to collect another control.

1-3-5-7-8-9-10-11-12-16-6-24-23-26-29-30-2. Should have done 2 at the start, and/or could have got 14 between 12 and 16.

Road cycling 3:05:00 [3] 71.5 km (2:35 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Two rivers ride. Left later than usual and hit the city in peak commuter hour, as opposed to my more normal peak groupie hour. Had to stop and wait for 3 or 4 commuters at the blind corner onto the path at the Hay St freeway exit. Groupies coming the other way tend to barrel along the (legally only single-file) path 3 abreast at 40+km/h, but at least their leader usually signals and a call of 'Bike up' passes down the line. Some commuters coming the other way like to overtake on blind corners (especially the Narrows) and the narrow path leading up to Hay St, leaving me no option but to slow or stop. Occasionally there's time to yell at them. Hope they don't drive their cars like that.

Getting warm towards the end of the ride.
