H3 course at Whiteman Park, gps 4.93kms. Went a bit too far west at 1, probably lost 30secs, but other people did much worse on what was a bing-O. Won the split to 2 with the control being visible from at least 50m away on my left route. Couldn't see a short way through to 3, so went the long way round to the left. Forbidden route Xs obscured the track on the shortest route. This cost me a lot more going to 4, again what looked like a long way round in fact was not so long because the setter hadn't noticed the fences changed. This confused me at first, but eventually kept going, then had to cross the unmapped fence which took me while with the top two barbed wires being very close together. Then misread the control and spent minutes looking in the forest when I should have been in the open. 6 minutes lost, the eventual difference between my 4th place and the winner was 5.

No issues after that, except for another tricky fence crossing through a small hole where the map showed a gate. No. 9 on an island was in the wrong place, but I had been told that; next to it was a bridge which had been taped off, so I went the long way across the other bridge. Judging by some splits for the next leg some people didn't.
