Ran from Cascades with Hep this morning. Much better run today - very minimal pain in the calf. I was very cautious but didn't really need to be. Might have dodged a bullet.

Decent - ran the main trail from Centennial and into Trowbride to avoid hills. Calf more tight that sore - not great but didn't get worse as the run went on. Maybe coming around.

Running streaks are dumb - they encourage people to made bad decisions and run when they need time off just in order to keep the steak going. But after today I understand their power a bit more.

I have run at least 30min everyday since last January some time. After yesterday I knew that running today was probably a bad idea, I still tried really hard to make it happen.

After over an hour of prep I walked across the street to attempt to run 30min around the flat, soft trail. After 5min I accepted that this was a bad idea and stopped. Calf was better than yesterday but taking a day off was definitely the right call.

So yesterday I debated doing the last set of 1min intervals. I figured I would be okay doing 4 sets as long as I really took care of my calf afterwards. Of course I got through the last set and then did nothing to help my calf recover.

My right calf was sore right from the start but at about 30min there was sharp, tearing pain in the belly of the calf every step. Running up hills I had to land on my heal and avoid toeing off. Spent the rest of the day stretching, icing, and getting acupuncture. Feeling better tonight.

-Run to Boulevard Lake (12:43)
- WO on LPH trails
- 15min WU, 4 X (4 X 1min fast with 1min jog) with 2min between sets
- 15min CD
- Run home from Boulevard (12:57)

I was tired for this, most tired that I have felt when the alarm clock went off in a while. Legs still feeling Sunday's hills. Good mindset - I embraced the struggled and made sure to remind myself that it is the hard that leads to improvement. Reps 3 and 4 of each set where especially tough as was keeping the first bit of each recovery moving along. Overall happy with it but my body needs some TLC.

Weight is finally good. I would like to lose another 3 - 4 lbs before the 10mile but that will come. Right calf was a bit unhappy with me. Did the loop in 16:30 during the WO which I was pretty pleased with considering over half the run was recovery. Getting there.

Ran out at Tower this morning at 5:30am with Anto.

- Three hills (23:00, 18:34 (41:34), 21:49, 18:25 (40:14), 20:57, 18:20 (includes about 30s waiting for Anto at the top) (39:17))

Better. Felt strong for the first time in a while. Anto took the last uphill out hard when he started fading heading into Sniper hill I just kept the momentum going. Didn't push too hard and felt in control.
