Orienteering 1:00:00 [1]

Hauling water and putting out the last seven controls. The event seemed to have gone well. People were happy with the courses, everything seemed to be in the right place, and the DNF rate was very low.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating - QOC makes it easy to volunteer. As course setter, I am only responsible for courses and for putting out controls. I don't need to worry about permits, event setup, epunch, programming SI units, food/water at the finish, or recruiting people for help with control pickup. It's a good club to be a part of.

Hanging flags for the Patapsco QOC event. Joe and I each had a section of 17-18 controls, which made things go much quicker than doing all of them at once. It was pouring cold rain when we started, but it gradually stopped, and the sun even came out towards the end. We save all of the water for water stops plus a bunch of controls for tomorrow morning, in case Patapsco pulled its usual "let's cancel the event if it rains at all" approach.
