Super technical Woodhill. This is up there with one of the most technical races I've run, and recent races include France WOC terrain and the mining area for last years Oceania Champs. So it was tough.
I was one of the first starters and got frustrated by the start crew not knowing much (getting told last second which descriptions I could grab, and getting told the wrong map to look at). Course had map change (to other side), butterflies and 4min start intervals... Talk about paranoid. Once I settled down I ran ok (relative to having no current form) in what was an awesome area. Certainly would take a bit of work to run fast in is terrain but I was pretty happy with stringing a few top 10 splits in parts. Overall quite scrappy tho with some bigger mistakes thrown in. I really fatigued hard from about 25min as well and really struggled over the 2nd half of the course. Glad I didn't run the long.
Have to come back. Preferably before the World Masters in 2017.
