Easy run/walk. I wanted to go with the team, but I work from 11-5 today so that was out of the question. Basically did an out and back going towards lester and back.

Warm-up to and from the UMD track for testing.
9 AM

Running (3000 M TT) 9:46 [5] 3.0 km (3:15 / km)

3 km TT. I started out witht the goal of getting 9:30. I was on pace for the entire race until the last 2 laps where I blew up. I still finished in 9:46 which is only a second slower than my PR. I felt really good the entire race. Kelin was the only guy on the team to beat me, but Andre also beat me too.

Strenght testing. This did not go very well for me. I am probably one of the weaker guys on the team strength wise.

High lvl 1 run with Waylon, dan, joe, ryan, and kirk. We ran the outer loop at hartley and back. 3 km TT tomorrow along with the strength test.

Easy warm-up run before technique training.

Just doing some specific ski motions to imitate skiing and work on technique. Chad was focusing on relaxing the entire time. I could do some stuff easier than others, but I was having a tough time relaxing my calfs enough on the kicking motions.

lvl 1 run with Jake, Lindsey, Laura, and Sarah down Chester bowl and back.

Stretching seminar with the entire team. Learned a lot of cool things. I really need to stretch a little bit better though.

Note

Kayak for about an hour at canal. We learned how to safely wet exit the boat, which was not fun because of the cold water. But I guess it just makes us prepared if it accidently happens to us while paddling.

Running (Max VO2 Test) 1:00:00 intensity: (50:00 @1) + (5:00 @2) + (2:30 @3) + (1:15 @4) + (1:15 @5) 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

Test went alright. Finished in about 12 minutes which I think is about the same as last spring. My max VO2 was around 54 I think, which is quite a bit lower than last spring. I think that one of the reasons why it was lower is because I lost about 15 lbs since my last test which effects the outcome greatly. I won't know more about my test results until my meeting tomorrow with Chad.

Hard strength in the gym today. I need to do strength sessions like this more often. It is a lot easier to do harder stuff when you have a partner around to encourage you to push more.
