Running (Fairyland Loop) 1:00:00 [3]

Long day at work, got home at 8pm. Needed a de-stressing run so headed out with the headlight for a fairyland loop. Felt ok, but tired up the last hill.

Running warm up/down 26:00 [2]
shoes: Adidas

Run to East Lindfield and back

Running hills (Carnavon Road) 23:00 [5]

with Prong, Ben, Andy and Adrian
10xhills ~45-50secs with 1.40-2mins jog recovery. Felt a bit slow, or maybe the others were just running faster. But at least i did 10reps, i mean as if you can call 8 a session. Soft.

Running (Lizard Loop) 1:31:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon XA 3D Pro

With Fatrat in morning. Very dark and gloomy. Ran ok, and surprisingly not too tired. That is until i got to work and all i wanted to do was lie on the couch and go to sleep

Orienteering race (Summer Series) 45:00 [5]
shoes: Adidas

Tarban Creek. Good run. Started with Andy then went a different route, but met up again later. Didn't think i was running that well, but was able to hang onto Andy better than usual.

Tuesday Mar 28, 2006 #

Note

Felt ok during the day, but lost motivation in the arvo, and decided i could do with a rest

Monday Mar 27, 2006 #

Running (Running drills) 50:00 [2]

Sunday Mar 26, 2006 #

Note

Adventure Race went from 11.30am Sat to 8am Sun morning. I have added 20 hours into the diary (taking out transition time) as and "Adventure Race". Should i break it up into separate disciplines (ie time spent running cycling kayaking)? What do other Attackpointers do in this situation?

Finished 2nd in Mixed class (3rd overall) with Grace Elson (my girlfriend) and David Baldwin (Canberran rogainer). Involved heaps of mtbing (forest and cycle paths) orienteering and kayaking, plus a kickbike section. We finished course in a bit over 21hrs. Made quite a few mistakes, but overall happy with the result.

North Ryde (new map) again started with Andy and running ok but made a few little mistakes and started loosing contact. Skipped one control and met up with Andy again, but couldn't hang on. More little mistake near end (like going to same control x2) but lucky to finish bang on 45mins. No time for cool down- rushed straight to Crows Nest for market research on running shoes.

Ran to UTS-Lindfield, did some stretching, then some running drills on the track for 20mins, then home again.

Note

Felt really crap this morning after Phoebe and Jose's wedding last night. Now i remember why big nights out are so bad for training. Will be a while before i get over that night...
However, how good was the Women's marathon race at the Commonwealth Games!! Kerryn McCann what a legend! That was the best finish i have ever seen and pulled me out of my hangover

Orienteering race 40:20 [5] *****
spiked:17/20c shoes: Teva X1

NOL 2- Middle. 15th. Very hot. Got 1 ok, but lost 3.24min on very short leg to #2. Drifted slightly to right and into wrong clump of rocks, and counldn't relocate. Ran well 3-8, then overan #9. Just didn't know when to stop, kept thinking it was behind the next rock. Couldn't believe how far i ran, lost 4.15min. Ran the rest of the course ok, but not much motivation left, except to drop Bruce Arthur. A very disappointing day. Running ok, but shocking mistakes.
