Swimming race (Anaconda AR) 34:31 [4] 1.9 km (18:10 / km)
slept:9.0

It was windy and rough, the first time i'd encountered these conditions. Wasn't really that happy with my swim, but can't really complain as i haven't been swimming since December?
Fastest swimmer did 23mins.

MTB Cycling race (Anaconda Forster) 1:27:03 [5] 30.0 km (2:54 / km) +376m 2:44 / km

Prong ran a great run leg- 77mins and picked up time on many of the top guys.

It took me a while to get going on this ride because i wa riding Prongs hardtale rather than the Rush. Quickly caught a few of the solo riders and some teams. The course was ridiculously muddy. Probably spent more time under water than above it. I caught Guy Andrews about half way, but it picked it up and stuck with me. I was tiring a bit cos I forgot to take any food so we ended up finishing together. Also passed John Kent, Boyd Conrick and Ben Allen in transition. So I gave Prong the chance to kayak against the best in the sport.
I was 2nd fastest on the leg behind the Epic Kayaks team (83mins). It wasn't be best ride ever so not a bad result. Love that mud- but it will take weeks to get it all out of my eyes!

Running race (Anaconda Forster) 13:00 [4] 3.0 km (4:20 / km)
shoes: Nike Bowerman

Final team run from Tuncurry, across the bridge and around to Forster main beach. Prong was still running really well and we had 5th fastest time. Could see Ben Allen and Boyd Conrick but couldn't run them down.

A great weekend.Prong and I were 8th overall, 2nd team, 1st 2person team. We couldn't have done much better in our current form. And in Prong's words "now we just have to improve each leg a little, and do it all ourselves". The solo athletes were really impressive, especially Jarad who smashed both days.

Running race (Anaconda Forster) 11:11 [5] 2.7 km (4:09 / km)
shoes: Nike Bowerman

Team Run Leg. Wow the pace was on again, but at least this time I wasn't wearing the wetsuit this year. But Prong ran a good leg and I certainly wasn't mucking around.

Kayaking race (Anaconda Forster) 1:25:00 [5] 13.8 km (6:10 / km)

Started next to Christie and tried to hold on, but slowly dropped off and didn't have to motivation to stay with her. Kept plugging away and hoped to give it everying in the last 20 mins. But after an hour I had nothing left and was just hanging on til the finish. Arms were bloody tired by the end but got to the shore safely. Really nice conditions. Need to do some training.

Running race (Forster Anaconda) 1:01:07 [5] 12.0 km (5:06 / km)
shoes: Nike Bowerman

From Sandbar to Neranderi.
This run was much more extreme than I expected. The first 10mins was basically underwater because Wallis Lake was really high. Then there was a really cool section in rainforest on a really small track. Small bit on the road, then another rough section along the waterfront. 500m surfboard paddle across the lake was much harder than expected with the kayaking in my arms. Felt great on the fireroad until the last hill that hurt me a bit, but otherwise really happy with the run.
But couldn't believe Jarad beat me by 6mins!

Good day for Prong and I- finished 10th overall. Need to improve swimming and kayaking.

with Mounty in the Mark 2. Its been a long time since I did a paddle session. My shoulders were tired after 5mins, but I felt ok by the end. Still like the Mark2.

slept:8.0 shoes: Nike Bowerman

Stingers Training- O-intervals with Prong, Ben, Andy and Jose. Heaps of fun and I felt a lot better than expected. Back was still a bit sore.

Orienteering (Josh's Pizza Ride) 1:54:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:42 / km)
slept:7.0

Tuesday night Pizza ride with Josh, Mark and Richie. My bike was still in customs so I rode the donkey. Was pretty hesitant on the downhills with an unfamiliar bike. Back was ok, except when i hoped off to walk. Glad i made the effort and it was great to catch up with Josh.

Note
(rest day)

Planned to go for a paddle today but circumstances didn't allow. Drove to the motor registry to re-register my car in victoria since the NSW registration expired when i was overseas. Victoria doesn't require an inspection (pink slip) so that's handy. Paid my $530, changed the plates, then the car wouldn't start. How embarrassing! Filling in some time waiting for Kath to finish work. We tried to jump start, but the battery seemed ok. Rang the mechanic who suggested it was probably a dead starter motor. So Kath towed me to the mechanic in Yinnar, the next town. Was bloody scary being that close behind another car with bugger all brakes and heaps of jerking. Very relieved to get there. The mechanic suggested getting rid of the commodore last time i took it to him just before heading O/S. Should have listened.
ps the surf ski is still on the car, in the mechanics
