Kayaking 1:00:31 [3] 10.28 km (5:53 / km)

Hazelwood Pondage:- afternoon paddle with Kathryn. Nice day, pretty calm. A bit faster than yesterday.

Road Cycling 3:30:00 [3] 100.0 km (2:06 / km) +2000m 1:55 / km

Tyers to DIS:- Went to Tyers with Kathryn in the morning for the Harriers 12km race. Rode up the hill at Tyers to warm up. Then back to Tyers, Yallourn North, Moe/Newborough, Coalville, Ten Mile Creek, Driffield and back up the Strezlecki and home. A bit flat for the first hour or so, but pretty solid for the last hour which was mostly uphill. Tired but satisfied at the end.
Achilles ok

Kayaking (Hazelwood Pondage) 49:44 [3] 8.22 km (6:03 / km)

Road Cycling 1:45:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:06 / km)

late morning ride with Duncan from his place in Morwell. Duncs hasn't been on winter cycling hibernation but he was still riding quite well and my legs were a bit tired from yesterday. We did a route out to Yallourn North and back which had no big hills but was mostly undulating and a bit windy.

Road Cycling hills (Mt Tassie via Red Hill Ro) 2:11:21 [4] 59.63 km (2:12 / km) +939m 2:03 / km

afternoon ride with Nenet- my masseur and a good local runner. He worked for an hour on my calves and back, then I went out and immediately screwed them again. Rode from his house in Traralgon to Traralgon South then up to Mt Tassie. This time via Red Hill Road, which is different to the route I took a few months ago, and much steeper. There is one 2.5km section at 8% which i don't think I've ridden much harder than that- at least on a road bike. Nenet was pretty impressive to actually get up it on a TT bike. We rode easier up to Mt Tassie and back down via Balook Rd. Again I didn't learn my lesson and didn't take an extra jacket and it was bloody cold coming down.

MTB Cycling 2:00:00 [3] 40.0 km (3:00 / km)

Delburn- Mirboo North Return:- Headed out on the Rush to Mirboo North and back via some extended trails. 2nd half was dark. Riding in winter sucks. Was warm going up every hill and cold on every descent.
Achilles ok.

Note
slept:6.0 (rest day)

Didn't run this morning as I was tired from last nights karaoke bar and my achilles was pretty sore yesterday.

Left Kaohsiung in the arvo. Really enjoyed my time here, the locals were always very friendly and helpful. It would have been great to see a bit more of the country. The Orienteering races were very will organised so congratulations to the Australian/Danish/Taiwanese organising committee.

And well done to the Aussie team. They were a pleasure to look after and the result in the relay was fantastic. It was due to 4 solid runs rather than any individual brilliance and it is great to see the top nations see us as such a threat. And cool to knock of countries like Sweden and Switzerland. I really thought we were going to get a medal today, it just all seemed to be falling into place. Perhaps WG 2013 in Colombia...
