Running 5:12 [3] 1.32 km (3:56 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 190

Dash for Cash at Mt Baw Baw. 1.5km on the downhill mtb course. Took out the win and $100. nice. But beating Jarad was even sweeter. I reckon I could get under 5mins next time.

Running 16:07 [3] 1.44 km (11:12 / km) +281m 5:40 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 190

run back up the downhill course. Just tried to run the whole way. A bit easier than after 2hours of racing.

Easy roll around the MTB course with Luke, Darren, Deanna and Peri. Starting to get more confidence back on the singletrack descents.

morning paddle after nightshift. It was nice and calm and a great red sunrise with all the smoke about. Was pretty bored amd spent a lot of time yawning. Did about 15x20 DS on/off to keep it interesting.

Road Cycling 1:19:06 [3] 34.77 km (2:16 / km) +415m 2:09 / km
shoes: Cervelo P3

post paddle ride on the time trial bike. It was hot and humid riding up Jumbuck road. I was feeling a bit depleted by the time I got to the top so I had to find a fruit tree and eat about 20 mini plums. Then on the descent the wind change hit and I was battling to keep on the bike. It was a cross head wind all the way back to Yinnar and I was holding on for dear life. Happy to make it back.

shoes: Nike Air Span 7

I had originally planned to head to Inverloch for a paddle as it was going to be pretty hot. But the wind was quite strong so I changed my mind. Decided I would run instead and went in the middle of the day to really punish myself. While I did enjoy the first half, and the coke at Mirboo North. The last hour was a struggle. Ran the first 90 min in 5min/kms but really faded when I hit Richardo Track hill. Legs were really depleted and hard to move as they were close to cramping. Didn't have the energy to extend to 3hrs like I did on Christmas day. This run hasn't made my decision whether to race Coast to CoastMultisport race in 2.5weeks any easier.

A friend of Kathryn's died yesterday from a massive brain aneurysm. Healthy 32 yo non smoker so a bit of a shock. Makes you want to make the most out of life and stop worrying about the little things.

Running 15:00 [3] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Lunar Elite

short warm up and cool down
7 PM

Running race 18:21 [3] 5.3 km (3:28 / km) +17m 3:24 / km

5000m race with Athletics Gippsland.
It took a lot of motivation to get to this race straight from work. Luckily the longest race is always the last on the program and usually after 7pm. I only had time for 1km warm up but that was nothing unusual. Put the old Asics track spikes on again for the 2nd time in 10 years but I felt I wasn't running on my toes enough to really get good benefit from them.
Corny and Darrel were racing, I couldn't keep with Corny but sat on Darrel for 2km. Then I lead for the next 3km and we had a good battle for the last 200m which was good to get really pushed. 25 secs faster than in December but that was after I'd been paddling (though today was after work). It would be good if I can get down to the track a bit more regularly.
